Now in their fourth
year, the National BTEC Awards 2014 reward individuals, colleges and
employees Every year, we hear wonderful and inspiring stories from teachers and
tutors and other learning providers about truly outstanding BTEC students and
apprentices in schools, colleges and work-based placements across the UK and
internationally.
Cambridge video production company WaveFX were commissioned for a third year
to document these amazing stories.
Jack Ormandy, Senior Marketing Events
Executive at Pearson Publishing commented: “We
have worked with WaveFX for the past three years on our annual awards ceremony
producing winners videos, and now couldn't imagine working with
anyone else. These videos have become the highlight of our awards ceremony
every year and this is down to the professional, creative and talented
attributes of the whole WaveFX team. They always deliver fantastic
results, on time and on budget, and make our jobs that bit easier”
The ceremony was held
in recognition of the nearly one million students around the country who are
studying BTEC qualifications this year. Pearson, who own Edexcel, the awarding
body for BTECs, received over 1000 nominations across the 20 award categories
for this year's Awards.
The Awards were hosted by DJ and Presenter Jameela Jamil, at the Royal
Horticultural Halls in London. The
attendees (who included the winning students, teachers, and leaders in
education) also heard from philanthropist and presenter, Katie Piper, and were
treated to a dance performance from BTEC students.
Ahead of the Awards
Ceremony, the winners, their family, friends and nominators attended a
Parliamentary reception in the House of Lords, hosted by Government Education
Spokesperson Baroness Sharp.
